Conference overview

The Diabetes UK Professional Conference is the only event of its kind in the UK run exclusively for healthcare professionals and scientists working in the field of diabetes. It is one of the largest healthcare conferences in the UK and provides delegates with a unique opportunity to:

• explore a variety of different aspects of diabetes
• hear from a wide range of inspiring speakers
• find out about the latest research
• share best practice and network with colleagues
• add towards continuing professional development (CPD) portfolios

What topics are covered in the conference programme?

The theme for the 2012 Professional Conference is Diabetes: overcoming hurdles, achieving success.

The 2012 conference programme is currently being developed with planned talks around topical themes such as obesity, its relevance to outcomes in Type I and Type II diabetes and the potential role of obesity surgery; driving and hypoglycaemia; ethnicity and diabetes; insulin pumps; psychological issues; foot disease; testosterone and diabetes; cardiovascular disease and incretin-based therapies.

Following on from delegate feedback in 2011, the programme will continue to build upon its basic and clinical science content which we hope will encourage scientists both young and experienced to attend.
