Since 1990, which was the year of the First International conference on harmonization in Brussels, which became the founder of the rules of Good Clinical Practice, number of clinical trials conducted around the world steadily grows. At that not only the number of large international randomized trials increases, but also small pilot projects conducted by individual researchers all over the world.
The number of such studies grows in the territory of the Russian Federation, too. The greatest part of them falls on the therapeutic field or therapeutically adjacent cardiac field.
Unfortunately, we deal with an alarm situation when most of these studies are not conducted in accordance with the rules of Good Clinical Practice, which is an acknowledged global standard.
Research often is not subject by subsequent proper statistical treatment, which significantly skews the results, both to positive and negative parts.
Most of these studies do not pass ethical expert evaluation.
Summing up these facts, we can say that they all lead to development of prejudice, negative attitude towards clinical trials initiated and conducted in the territory of the Russian Federation.
Being aware of complexity of the current situation, the initiative group of Russian Scientific Medical Society of Physicians has proposed the creation of the Clinical Division of RSMSP, which was unanimously supported at the presidium of the IV National Congress of Physicians.
The activity of the Clinical Division involves close coordination with the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Physicians, European and international societies working in the field of internal medicine.
The activity of the Society includes development and support of clinical studies initiated and conducted in the Russian Federation in all their aspects.
