Start of new multicenter All-Russian comparative study ISPOLYN is planned (Study of clinical effectiveness of early diagnostics of myocardial infarction using fatty acid binding protein). One of the priorities of modern cardiology is early diagnostics of acute coronary syndrome, and possible early start of treatment. Most of the markers of myocardial damage become active and can be distinguished starting from the 6th hour, which often leads to mistakes and overdiagnosis. Earlier diagnosis verification enables to reduce loss of time at home or at the stage of an ambulance. Troponin test is the gold standard for diagnosis of myocardial infarction all over the world, yet its sensitivity is limited to 6-hour period starting from the progression of pain. Test on fatty acid binding protein enables to verify significantly earlier the diagnosis, in 1-2 hours after the progression of pain syndrome. The planned capacity of the study is 1000 patients. The study results should confirm with the clinical point of view the possibility of using the test on fatty acid binding protein for early diagnosis of myocardial infarction.
